Football Injury Index 2023

A global insurance broking group Howden, after a recent rebrand were tasked with launching their 2022/23 edition of a report that indexed and visualised unique data on football injuries for the current season. WNS were tasked with doing something nobody had done before by collecting and standardising huge amounts of data relating injury numbers, costs and severity. I was tasked with visualising the data. The narrative, constructed and written by Ed Anton (from Howden's Sports and Entertainment team) and my challenge was to use the data to provide data visualisations that supported this narrative. Exciting, engaging visual to draw the viewer in, and explain the data in detail, where needed were both in consideration. Kevin Taplin, the design lead, supervised the visual element of the project, also designing the editorial layouts and bringing together the colours and final adjustments from a wholistic perpective.
